Position Overview:
As a Sales Manager at Cavco Industries, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's growth and success by leading our sales efforts in the manufactured home industry. Given the specialized nature of our products, prior experience in home manufacturing is not just preferred but essential. Understanding the intricacies of the industry, including the unique needs of our customers and the regulatory environment, is critical to achieving our sales objectives and maintaining our leadership position in the market.

Responsibilities:
Develops and implements strategic marketing plans, sales plans, and forecasts to achieve
Corporate objectives for products and services
Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets
- Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail
- Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
- Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards, industry, and economic trends
- Ensures effective control of marketing results. Takes corrective action to guarantee achievement of marketing objectives fall within designated budgets
- Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions
- Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
- Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events

- Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
- Directs staffing, training, mentoring and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs
- Manages and directs sales team, including recruitment, selection, and development to achieve company goals and objectives
- Directs market channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
- Represents company at trade association meetings to promote product
- Meets with key clients to maintain relationships
- Coordinates liaison between sales department and other sales related units
- Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements
- Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications
- Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion
- Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness.
- Demonstrate a good work ethic based on principles of honesty and integrity
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred. (Will consider verifiable experience in same field in lieu of)
- Proven experience managing a team of sales representatives, with a strong preference for candidates with direct experience in the home manufacturing industry.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, including progressive managerial responsibilities, specifically within the manufactured home sector.
- Home manufacturing experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of our products, customer needs, and regulatory environment. This experience is essential for achieving success in this role.
- In-depth knowledge of sales and marketing techniques, financial principles, and the unique dynamics of the manufactured home industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and effectively resolve industry-specific challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage effectively with co-management, internal teams, and external customers.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel overnight as required by the position
